Keep your boys busy this summer making worm popsicles – gummy worms, that is! All you need is lemonade, gummy worms, and popsicle molds for a truly unique, fun and BOY themed popsicle!

I am so excited to be a part of The Joys of Boys Summer Survival For Moms of Boys series!  I have a serious love/hate relationship with summer. I love having everyone home and enjoying a slower pace of life for a few months.  But I hate having everyone home interrupting my routine and complaining that there is nothing to do.  I’ve teamed up with a whole slew of bloggers to help you keep your boys (and girls) busy this summer.  Make sure to check out the list at the very bottom of the post for more fun recipes, crafts, and activities to keep your clan busy all summer long.

Gummy worm popsicles are fairly straightforward to make and if your boys are old enough, they could definitely make them without much help from you (BONUS!). My little guys is 5 so he helped out.

You need exactly two ingredients to make these popsicles – gummy worms and lemonade.  You could use any clear-ish juice or soda.  I bought the gummy worms at the dollar store because they are a little smaller and I could get more in to my popsicles.   You will also need some kind of popsicle mold.  I have an obsession with popsicle molds so I have several.  The one pictured is from Tupperware but Amazon has lots to offer!  You can also use paper cups and craft sticks or even just ice cube trays.

The process is easy – fill your popsicle mold with gummy worms.  One dollar store bag got me about 3-4 popsicles.  Make sure there is room to insert the stick!  My son wanted to stuff them full of worms.

Carefully add the liquid.  As I said, I used lemonade so we could see the worms, but whatever you want will work.   Insert the sticks and put those bad boys in the freezer.  Mine froze for about 24 hours but I’m sure they were done sooner.

You might need to run the popsicles under a little hot water to get the popsicles to pop out of the molds.

I may have snuck one of these to try them out and boy, were they good!
